Cafe Romeo, Ljubljana, Slovenia

River Ljubljanica. Stara Ljubljana.

Hip Cafe Romeo. Mexican. Fusion. Whatever.

Ivona Ljubicic (Ljubičič) - "mystic explorer" as she would present herself. To friends at least, I guess. She was born in Belgrade to a Croatian father and Serbian mother. She has strong intention to build her family tree. As a young she used to work for Allied Domecq promoting their products or as one might say "drinking for money" :). She had a stint in electronic music production and delivery a.k.a. being a DJ. She was known as Lady DJ Ivona. After that she's got serious in advertising, making movies, being a casting agent and a photographer. She has 8 years old son named Lun. She indulges herself in mountaineering and she will start going to fitness studio after a long break. She's a film freak, loves meditation, flamenco and dancing in general. Her latest book was The Magdalen Manuscript by Tom Kenyon. With extra portion of time and money she would do a lot of singing, arts, photography. Traditional charity is just not her style.

Don Felipe, Ljubljana, Slovenia

Don Felipe, famous Spanish restaurant in Ljubljana. Unfortunately their entry web page is titled "untitled". Very unprofessional. Guest featured on this Blog post would agree. Their only excuse could be that they focus on what they do really good. Cooking. The fault lies with their web agency Intermedia.

Amazing garlic soup. A must, when you come around.

Stuffed peppers - with a very interesting coating.

Samo Mirnik, CEO of Renderspace, a division of Pristop, the local PR/AD/Branding communication giant. Born in Ljubljana, raised in Domžale and Mengeš, Samo is a typical central Slovenian. Among them cleaning tea cups in famous Tea House in Ljubljana, subtitle synchronization at POP TV, helping sell and organize popular student travels at Collegium, USA internship at PPG. Recently he worked for Parsek, before joining Renderspace. One of research works he was working on, also contributed to the founding of Httpool, regional web advertising/Internet marketing expert. He used to be an active scout and did a lot of real life traveling. In the virtual sphere he was and still is drawn to simulation/strategic games such as Civilization, Jones in the Fast Lane and Capitalism. Simulated virtual social-economic environments are lately getting a lot of traction in media and business with hugely popular SecondLife. Kongo, Grosuplje, Slovenia

Good looks. Good taste. Choose'n'take. Event food.

The fiesta is open.

If Africa is to far for you, Kongo Hotel and Casino in Grosuplje will provide a healthy (over)dose of cheetah and zebra patterns.

(Blaž) Blaz Mertelj - co-founder and CEO of Atol. Want to sell more? Blaž might be in a position to give you a hint or two. His roots are in Gozd Martuljek which is also homeground to many other Mertelj families. Also connected to the folks on the other side of the Alps around Zilja/Geil river. He was the only child and he also has Dalmatian blood in him. He started his career as a computer programmer and he also helped give proper computer education at elementary school. He helped create and run IBM Software Group in IBM Ljubljana office and later worked for SAS and TrisA, before founding Atol. He has 13 years old daughter, 12 years old son and another 4 years old daughter. He plays basketball and composes music. His latest book was The Da Vinci Code. Blaž would recommend Madonnas The English Roses the fastest selling picture book of all times, launched in 2003 on the same day worldwide. With day-to-day money-time worries of his mind, he would probably be in Africa involved in helping people to organize themselves, develop, prosper and grow. He believes.

Črnuški Dvor, Ljubljana, Slovenia

Igor Zorko - managing business at family IT company ZZI. Born and raised in Ljubljana, his roots are actually from Pekre and Prekmurje. Proud descendant of Ferdo Godina family is a very tall guy. Ready for playing basketball. And he does it a lot and did it even more as he was younger. He was a professional player for KK Šentjur and Trbovlje. His second sport is pool and he plays it with his handmade pool stick made by Prater. Those in the game should know what Prater means in pool game. His last book was Dan Brown's Deception Point and he probably read it when his 6 and 2 years old sons were asleep :) With extra time and money, sports would be even bigger part of his life.

Milan Spalević - is developing part of IBM Software business in CEMAAS, a very diverse region from Russia and Poland all the way to Egypt and Pakistan. Born and raised in Ljubljana, but with Montenegro origin. He's spent most of his career in sales and business development. He has done it in tourism, at GE Lighting, and recently at IBM Software. Besides spending quality time with his family (10 years old daughter, 4 and 3 years sons) he also likes running. A necessary antidote to intensive work. His latest book was Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code. With extra time and money he would travel with his family - far and wide.

Črnuški Dvor is a new restaurant, built in old style. Črnuški Dvor does not have a website. Does not want to have?

Food was good. Food was aplenty.

Favola, Ljubljana, Slovenia

Renovated Favola. Popular before, popular after. Very good pizzas and pasta.

Dunajska street in Ljubljana. One of the longest and most important ones.

I was running a little late, but that was no big deal, since all of us are already remote email access enabled. Waiting time was instantly converted into working time.

(Blaž) Blaz Gorjup is the owner and manager of company Nebulus, which produces SmokePoint - smoking rooms made of glass that can be installed in your working environment. He's first got the idea in Scandinavia where they have something similar and then decided to develop and patent SmokePoint. Blaž was raised and grew up in Grosuplje - a vibrant suburb of Ljubljana. While his Political Science study at FDV still remains an open chapter, he used to be president of IAPSS - International Association for Political Science Students and he is credited for bringing permanent IAPSS seat to Slovenia. Prior to his SmokePoint venture he worked in IBM PC division and later at Lenovo, developing reseller channel in Slovenia. If you want to patent something in Slovenia, these are the agent that can help you. He used to actively play handball for RK Grosuplje team. He also counts himself among sailors, his latest book was John Grisham's Broker, and his latest concert attended was that of Eros Ramazzoti. With infinite time and money he would go travel and after that he would try to provide systematic, sustainable help in Africa - mainly thru politics.

We paid in Euros as this is our new shiny currency now in Slovenia.
